Visa Information

Here is an initial set of resources that will help you decide on your travel requirements.

Check here if your country of departure requires you to apply for a Visa or Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) to enter South Korea.
For delegates who do not need to apply for a Visa, you will need to apply for a K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) here.

Visa Invitation Letter

RSS attendees who are required to apply for a visa will first need to register. After registration, this form can be filled out using an RSS registration number. Please contact the RSS 2023 Registration Chair, Prof. Shoudong Huang at (shoudong.huang@uts.edu.au) if you encounter problems with the registration process. Organizers will reach out to you with a signed invitation letter, which you can use to support your Korean visa application.

Accommodation

RSS 2023 has appointed Hotel Inter-Burgo EXCO and Daegu Marriott Hotel as our official hotels. Please follow the corresponding reservation instructions for RSS participants by June 15.

Shuttle bus services between EXCO and Daegu Marriott Hotel will be arranged daily for all RSS 2023 attendees. The shuttle bus schedule will be announced later.

Getting to Daegu

Daegu International Airport

As of March 2023, there are direct flights to Daegu International Airport (TAE) from 5 countries and 8 cities: Japan (Osaka, Narita, Fukuoka), Vietnam (Nha Trang, Danang), China (Zhangjiajie), Taiwan (Taipei), Thailand (Bangkok). If there are no direct flights available to Daegu, you may consider the following alternative ways to reach the city.

Incheon International Airport (Seoul)

For those who arrive at Incheon International Airport (ICN) which is a major international airport of Korea and need to get to Daegu city, there are two options available.
Domestic Flight From Incheon: When booking an international flight, please make sure that you can also book a domestic flight from Incheon to Daegu. For more information, please visit the Korean Air website.
Intercity (Nonstop) Bus from Incheon: We recommend taking the premium intercity (nonstop) bus to Dongdaegu, as it runs 30 times a day. For more information, please visit the following website (Click Gyeongsang to East Daegu). You can purchase your bus ticket directly at the airport or book your tickets in advance via the following website.
Train From Incheon: You can take an Airport Railroad Express (AREX, not a normal train) from Incheon airport (INC) to Seoul Station and then transfer to KTX (Korea Express Train) for your second trip to Dongdaegu Station. If you would like to book your tickets, visit the AREX or KTX website.

Gimhae International Airport (Busan)

We recommend taking the intracity bus from Gimhae International Airport (PUS) to Dongdaegu Station, as it runs 30 times a day. You can purchase your bus ticket directly at the airport or book your tickets in advance via the following website.

From Daegu International Airport / Dongdaegu Station to EXCO

It is recommended that you take a taxi to EXCO. You will find a taxi stop in front of the main gate of Daegu Airport or Dongdaegu Station. It takes about 20 minutes from there to EXCO and costs about KRW 8,000. (All rides are metered).
